Criptomoedas e o comportamento do investidor : um estudo a partir da cultura política

Abstract

O estudo do comportamento geral de uma sociedade pode ser utilizado para compreender o vínculo, cada vez mais relevante, entre aspectos culturais - como valores e crenças - e o mercado de investimentos, bem como para prever movimentações financeiras futuras em diferentes nações. Quando se trata da análise para ativos alternativos, como as criptomoedas, no entanto, ela ainda se demonstra bastante insipiente. tem como objetivo principal examinar quais valores culturais e políticos estão associados a uma maior adesão de criptomoedas em determinados países. Para tanto, foram estabelecidos três objetivos específicos: (i) identificar quais variáveis podem ser utilizadas para estabelecer eixos de análise; (ii) compreender se as criptomoedas apresentam um comportamento consistente quando comparadas a outros ativos ou se comportam-se de maneira única; e (iii) projetar, com base nos valores dos cidadãos, como pode ocorrer a adoção das criptomoedas nos próximos anos nos diferentes países selecionados. Os resultados do estudo mostraram que foi possível identificar as variáveis que poderiam ser utilizadas no eixo de análise da adoção de criptomoedas comparativamente entre os diferentes países, com base na literatura existente. Também foi possível identificar se as criptomoedas, assim como outros ativos no mercado financeiro, teriam seu comportamento mudado pela relação com a cultura política. No entanto, a maioria das variáveis culminaram em um resultado insignificante, exceto por uma única que mostrou-se mais relevante: a visão de que é positiva a maior ênfase na tecnologia no futuro. Além disso, o estudo destacou a importância de pesquisas adicionais para entender melhor como esse fenômeno se sucede e identificar outras variáveis relevantes para explicar esse processo. Métodos qualitativos e outras bases de dados também podem ser úteis para complementar essa pesquisa e trazer resultados mais precisos.

The study of the general behavior of a society can be used to understand the increasingly relevant link between cultural aspects - such as values and beliefs - and the investment market, as well as to predict future financial movements in different nations. When it comes to the analysis for alternative assets, such as cryptocurrencies, however, it still proves to be quite incipient. aims to examine which cultural and political values are associated with greater adoption of cryptocurrencies in certain countries. For that, three specific objectives were established: (i) identify which variables can be used to establish axes of analysis; (ii) understand whether cryptocurrencies have a consistent behavior when compared to other assets or if they behave in a unique way; and (iii) project, based on citizens' values, how the adoption of cryptocurrencies may occur in the coming years in the different selected countries. The results of the study showed that it was possible to identify the variables that could be used in the axis of analysis of the adoption of cryptocurrencies comparatively between different countries, based on the existing literature. It was also possible to identify whether cryptocurrencies, as well as other assets in the financial market, would have their behavior changed by their relationship with political culture. However, most of the variables culminated in an insignificant result, except for one that proved to be more relevant: the view that greater emphasis on technology in the future is positive. In addition, the study highlighted the importance of further research to better understand how this phenomenon occurs and to identify other relevant variables to explain this process. Qualitative methods and other databases can also be useful to complement this research and bring more accurate results.
