Navegar o tempo : intervenções de Eric Miralles sobre preexistências

Abstract

A partir da segunda metade do século XX, um novo tipo de abordagem passou a ser registrado no campo da conservação de edificações e monumentos arquitetônicos. Tendo por fundamento uma compreensão da história no qual o presente opera a materialidade do passado de forma livre a fim de ressituá-lo na contemporaneidade, essas intervenções vêm ganhando diferentes nomes; sob a alcunha de Terceira Via, essa abordagem será analisada nas páginas a seguir tendo como estudo de caso a Prefeitura de Utrecht (Países Baixos), obra do escritório espanhol EMBT, dirigido por Enric Miralles e Benedetta Tagliabue.

From the second half of the twentieth century, a new approach started to be registered in the field of conservation of buildings and architectural monuments. Based on an understanding of History in which the present freely operates the materiality of the past in order to reposition it in contemporary times, these interventions have been given different names; under the name of Third Path, this approach will be analyzed in the following pages taking as a case study the Utrecht Town Hall (Netherlands), a design project of the Spanish office EMBT, directed by Enric Miralles and Benedetta Tagliabue.
