O impacto social de telecentro próximo à biblioteca comunitária sob a ótica do beneficiário : o caso Chico Mendes

Abstract

Trata-se de um estudo de caso realizado no Telecentro e na Biblioteca Comunitária Chico Mendes situados na cidade de Porto Alegre/RS. Buscou investigar a ótica do beneficiário em relação a esses ambientes contíguos e sua autopercepção de inclusão social a partir do uso dos mesmos. O estudo é de cunho qualitativo, e utilizou como instrumento para a coleta de dados a entrevista estruturada gravada. O referencial teórico que fundamenta o estudo se firma nos temas: telecentros, bibliotecas comunitárias, inclusão social, inclusão digital e autopercepção. Como resultado, demonstra que os beneficiários participantes da pesquisa reconhecem o telecentro e a biblioteca como complemento um do outro. O fato dos ambientes serem contíguos facilita sua utilização pelos beneficiários, pois as informações que não encontram no telecentro (internet) buscam na biblioteca e vice-versa. Afirmam, portanto, que a utilização dos espaços mudou sua vida para melhor. O telecentro os colocou em conexão com o mundo e a biblioteca os ajuda a interagir mais uns com os outros e a melhorar a leitura. Em relação à autopercepção de inclusão dos participantes, todos se sentem socialmente incluídos, valorizados e privilegiados por ter os ambientes tão próximos da comunidade e poder desfrutar de seus serviços. Contudo, sentem falta de assistência na biblioteca. Conclui que o beneficiário percebe o telecentro e a biblioteca Chico Mendes como espaços de integração, socialização e inclusão social. Sugere melhoria no atendimento da biblioteca e atividades específicas conjuntas entre os ambientes para um maior benefício da comunidade, e que a capacitação dos monitores seja um requisito para sua atuação.

This is a case study in Telecentre and Community Library Chico Mendes located in Porto Alegre / RS. It was intended to investigate the perspective of the beneficiary in relation to these contiguous environments and their perception of social inclusion from the use thereof. It is a qualitative study and used a structured recorded interview as a tool for collecting data. The theoretical approach used in this study focuses in the following issues: telecentres, community libraries, social inclusion, digital inclusion and self-perception. As a result, it demonstrates that beneficiaries who participated in this study recognized the telecentre and the library as a complement from one another. The fact that the environments are contiguous facilitates their use by beneficiaries, because the information that they do not find in telecentre (Internet) they search the library and vice versa. They argue, therefore, that the use of the spaces has changed their life for the better. The telecentre placed them in connection with the world and the library helps them to interact more with each other and improve readability. Regarding the perception of inclusion of participants, they all feel socially included, valued and privileged to have these environments so close to the community and be able to enjoy their services. However they feel lack of assistance in the library. The conclusion is that the recipient perceives the telecentre and library Chico Mendes as spaces for integration, socialization and social inclusion. The study suggests improvement in library service, specific joint activities between environments for greater benefit of the community and that the training of monitors is are quirement for its performance.
