Tecelã de retratos e lutas : faces do imaginário poético de Lila Ripoll

Abstract

A presente dissertação investiga as múltiplas dimensões do imaginário poético de Lila Ripoll (1905–1967), poeta, jornalista, militante comunista e figura de destaque na cena cultural e política do Rio Grande do Sul na primeira metade do século XX. O estudo parte do reconhecimento do apagamento histórico e literário sofrido por Lila Ripoll, especialmente após a ditadura civil-militar brasileira, e busca resgatar sua poética a partir da análise dos símbolos mais produtivos em sua obra. Para isso, apoiamo-nos nas contribuições dos estudos do imaginário, especialmente nos trabalhos de Gilbert Durand, Jean Burgos, Gaston Bachelard e Mircea Eliade, articulando-os a reflexões da crítica literária feminista e dos estudos de gênero. A partir disso, realizou-se uma mitocrítica da obra poética de Lila Ripoll publicada entre os anos 1951 e 1967 e foram investigadas as diversas redes de significação ativadas a partir de imagens e símbolos frequentes. Durante as análises, foram observados três temas recorrentes na obra da autora: a introspecção e o desdobramento da persona, revelando um eu em constante diálogo com o tempo, a memória e a morte; o fazer poético, associado à tecelagem como metáfora para a construção de sentidos e para o enfrentamento do silenciamento histórico das mulheres na literatura; e, por fim, a esperança, a partir do engajamento e da luta contra desigualdades sociais, opressões de gênero e violência política. Ao articular esses temas, este estudo evidencia como a autora constrói uma poética plural, capaz de transitar entre a intimidade e a coletividade, entre a memória pessoal e a história social a partir de um rico arcabouço simbólico. Dessa forma, a pesquisa contribui para o resgate crítico e a valorização da voz de uma mulher fundamental para a literatura brasileira, cuja obra conserva atualidade e potência simbólica.

This dissertation investigates the multiple dimensions of the poetics of Lila Ripoll (1905–1967), a poet, journalist, communist activist, and prominent figure in the cultural and political scene of Rio Grande do Sul in the first half of the 20th century. The study stems from the recognition of the historical and literary erasure suffered by Ripoll, especially after the Brazilian civil-military dictatorship, and seeks to reclaim her poetics through the analysis of the most productive symbols in her work. To this end, we draw on the contributions of studies on the imaginary, particularly the works of Gilbert Durand, Jean Burgos, Gaston Bachelard, and Mircea Eliade, while also engaging with feminist literary criticism and gender studies. Building on this framework, we conducted a mythocritical analysis of Lila Ripoll's poetic works published between 1951 and 1967, examining the various networks of meaning activated by recurring images and symbols. During the analyses, three recurrent themes were observed in the author's work: introspection and the unfolding of the persona, revealing a self in constant dialogue with time, memory, and death; the poetic act, associating it with weaving as a metaphor for the construction of meaning and for confronting the historical silencing of women in literature; and, finally, hope stemming from engagement and the fight against social inequalities, gender oppression, and political violence. By articulating these themes, this study demonstrates how Lila Ripoll constructs a plural poetics, capable of moving between intimacy and collectivity, personal memory and social history, through a rich symbolic framework. Thus, this research contributes to the critical recovery and appreciation of the voice of a woman who was essential to Brazilian literature, whose work remains relevant and symbolically potent.
