A sexualidade na narrativa Queer brasileira de Sócrates (2018) : análise de cenas de conflito e envolvimento

Abstract

A presente pesquisa propõe uma análise da sexualidade na narrativa queer, presente no longa-metragem brasileiro Sócrates (2018), focando especificamente nas cenas que abordam o conflito e envolvimento na relação dos personagens Sócrates e Maicon. Primeiramente, contextualizamos o cinema como meio de comunicação de sexualidades, com os autores Gutfreind (2005), Lopes (2006) e Hall (1997). Em seguida, no mesmo capítulo, adentramos a teoria queer com Louro (2018) e Miskolci (2009) e finalizamos com a narrativa queer e suas relações com espaço e tempo, a partir de Hall (2014), Fagundes (2015) e Halberstam (2005). No terceiro capítulo apresentamos um panorama do cinema queer no Brasil, com as contribuições de Moreno (1995) e Lacerda (2015). Após, apresentamos o filme Sócrates (2018) e aspectos relevantes de sua produção no contexto do audiovisual brasileiro. Também, com os estudos de Louro (2018) e Foucault (1988), relacionamos os conceitos de sexualidade e associamos ao longa-metragem selecionado. Para agregar em discussões futuras, iniciamos uma reflexão sobre raça, classe, sexualidade e seus desdobramentos do preconceito com Santos (2016), Woodward (2014) e Biroli e Miguel (2015). Por fim, para atingir o objetivo geral deste trabalho, utilizamos a análise fílmica como metodologia para compreendermos os aspectos narrativos e estéticos que contribuem nas cenas de conflito e envolvimento entre Sócrates e Maicon, e suas relações com os conceitos abordados durante o trabalho. Como principais conclusões, observamos que a heteronormatividade é presente na construção do personagem Maicon e que através disso há uma resistência em compreender a sua sexualidade no relacionamento entre os dois meninos.

The present research proposes an analysis of sexuality in queer narrative, as found in the Brazilian feature film Sócrates (2018), focusing specifically on scenes that address the conflict and involvement in the relationship between the characters Sócrates and Maicon. Firstly, we contextualize cinema as a means of communication of sexualities, drawing on the works of Gutfreind (2005), Lopes (2006), and Hall (1997). In the same chapter, we delve into queer theory with Louro (2018) and Miskolci (2009), concluding with queer narrative and its relations with space and time, based on Hall (2014), Fagundes (2015), and Halberstam (2005). In the third chapter, we present an overview of queer cinema in Brazil, incorporating contributions from Moreno (1995) and Lacerda (2015). Subsequently, we introduce the film Sócrates (2018) and relevant aspects of its production in the context of Brazilian audiovisuals. Additionally, drawing on the studies of Louro (2018) and Foucault (1988), we relate the concepts of sexuality and associate them with the selected feature film. To contribute to future discussions, we initiate a reflection on race, class, sexuality, and their manifestations of prejudice with Santos (2016), Woodward (2014), and Biroli and Miguel (2015). Finally, to achieve the overall goal of this work, we employ film analysis as a methodology to comprehend the narrative and aesthetic aspects contributing to the scenes of conflict and involvement between Sócrates and Maicon, and their relations with the concepts addressed throughout the study. As main conclusions, we observe that heteronormativity is present in the construction of the character Maicon, and that through this, there is resistance in understanding his sexuality in the relationship between the two boys.
