Caracterização produtiva da agricultura familiar no COREDE Litoral, Rio Grande do Sul

Abstract

Neste estudo, buscamos por meio do Censo Agropecuário 2017 identificar as características dos estabelecimentos agropecuários e dos produtores familiares do COREDE Litoral do Rio Grande do Sul. Para que isso fosse possível, nos orientamos em responder: Quais são as características dos estabelecimentos agropecuários e dos produtores familiares do COREDE Litoral do Rio Grande do Sul? Nesse sentido, o objetivo geral desta pesquisa consistiu em caracterizar, com base no Censo Agropecuários 2017, a agricultura familiar no COREDE Litoral, estado do Rio Grande do Sul. Como objetivos específicos foram definidos: 1) Descrever a dinâmica histórica, social e econômica da agricultura familiar no COREDE Litoral; 2) Caracterizar os estabelecimentos agropecuários familiares quanto aos aspectos estruturais, produtivos e agroindustriais; e 3) Caracterizar os produtores agropecuários familiares no que se refere aos aspectos demográficos e ocupações de postos de trabalhos dentro das estruturas e arranjos produtivos existentes. Como fundamentação teórica trazemos autores renomados do desenvolvimento e desenvolvimento rural, destacando-se entre eles: Karl Polany (2003), Ricardo Abramoway (1992), Sérgio Schneider (2003, 2006 2014), Jan Douwe van der Ploeg (2006, 2008 e 2009), Zander Navarro (2001) e entre outros. Metodologicamente, esta pesquisa trata-se como um estudo exploratório descritivo, do tipo quantitativo e qualitativa, seguida da análise do universo. Os dados demonstraram que na região a agricultura de base familiar é predominante, pois está presente em 79,22% dos estabelecimentos agropecuários. Dentre as informações coletadas, o Censo revela uma agricultura de base familiar com características socioeconômicas heterogêneas. As agroindústrias existentes apresentam-se como alternativa de mercados aos agricultores. Por fim, considera-se que a agricultura de base familiar do Litoral do RS, dentro da perspectiva do desenvolvimento regional, é considerada como um forte agente propulsor do desenvolvimento. Assim como sua existência e manutenção são fundamentais para o desenvolvimento local e regional.

In this study, we sought, through the 2017 Agricultural Census, to identify the characteristics of agricultural establishments and family producers in COREDE Litoral do Rio Grande do Sul. For this to be possible, we guided ourselves in answering: What are the characteristics of agricultural establishments and family producers of COREDE Litoral do Rio Grande do Sul? In this sense, the general objective of this research consisted of characterizing, based on the 2017 Agricultural Census, family farming in COREDE Litoral, state of Rio Grande do Sul, from the perspective of regional development. As specific objectives were defined: 1) To describe the historical, social and economic dynamics of family farming in COREDE Litoral; 2) Characterize family farming establishments in terms of structural, productive and agro-industrial aspects; and 3) Characterize the family agricultural producers with regard to demographic aspects and job occupations within the existing productive structures and arrangements. As a theoretical foundation, we bring renowned authors of rural development and development, among them: Karl Polany (2003), Ricardo Abramoway (1992), Sérgio Schneider (2003, 2006 2014), Jan Douwe van der Ploeg (2006, 2008 and 2009), Zander Navarro (2001) and others. Methodologically, this research is treated as a descriptive exploratory study, of the quantitative and qualitative type, followed by the analysis of the universe. The data showed that family-based agriculture is predominant in the region, as it is present in 79.22% of agricultural establishments. Among the information collected, the Census reveals a family-based agriculture with heterogeneous socioeconomic characteristics. Existing agro-industries present themselves as alternative markets for farmers. Finally, it is considered that family-based agriculture on the coast of RS, within the perspective of regional development, is considered as a strong propelling agent of development. Just as its existence and maintenance are fundamental for local and regional development.
