Gestão de resíduos alimentares na economia circular

Abstract

O desperdício de alimentos representa desafios contemporâneos econômicos, ambientais, sociais e éticos em uma escala global e requer atenção política urgente. No pensamento da Economia Circular o desperdício de alimentos (FW - Food waste) é um problema complexo e multifacetado, que não pode ser atribuído a uma única variável. O objetivo desta pesquisa é caracterizar as diferentes abordagens da gestão de resíduos alimentares no mundo à luz dos princípios da Economia Circular, na literatura científica, na mídia e nas instituições. Assim, foi realizada uma revisão bibliográfica, bem como um levantamento documental. As bases de dados utilizadas nesse estudo foram Web of Science, Scopus, Google e LinkedIn e após foi realizado um Text Mining. Na literatura científica, a discussão sobre a temática da pesquisa apresenta maior ênfase no âmbito da gestão do desperdício de alimentos. Na mídia, nota-se conexão/relação entre o manejo de resíduos alimentares e a Economia Circular, indicando que a mídia está com um importante debate frente à gestão de resíduos alimentares na Economia Circular. Já as instituições não têm apresentado foco na gestão/manejo dos resíduos alimentares, mas sim na redução do desperdício. Em síntese, podemos observar o crescimento da preocupação da sociedade em geral em construir um planeta mais sustentável. Uma das formas possíveis para isso é gerir os resíduos alimentares por meio da Economia Circular. Por fim, pode-se dizer que o trabalho traz consigo reflexões sobre como cada um dos portais de comunicação está influenciando esse processo.

Food waste poses contemporary economic, environmental, social and ethical challenges on a global scale and requires urgent political attention. In Circular Economy thinking, food waste (FW) is a complex and multifaceted problem, which cannot be attributed to a single variable. The objective of this research is to characterize the different approaches to food waste management in the world in the light of the principles of Circular Economy, in scientific literature, in the media and in institutions. Thus, a bibliographic review was carried out, as well as a documentary survey. The databases used in this study were Web of Science, Scopus, Google and LinkedIn, after which a Text Mining was performed. In the scientific literature, the discussion on the research theme has greater emphasis on the scope of food waste management. In the media, there is a connection/relationship between the management of food waste and the Circular Economy, indicating that the media has an important debate on the management of food waste in the Circular Economy. Institutions, on the other hand, have not focused on the management/management of food waste, but on the reduction of waste. In summary, we can observe the growing concern of society in general to build a more sustainable planet. One of the possible ways to do this is to manage food waste through the Circular Economy. Finally, it can be said that the work brings with it reflections on how each of the communication portals is influencing this process.
