Africanas : gênero e feminismo em perspectiva afrocentrada

Abstract

A presente dissertação de mestrado se desenrolou sob o aporte da história do tempo presente, estudando a África Subsaariana num período pós-colonial africano (1960- 2010). A partir de uma abordagem afrocentrada, a pesquisa visa responder às seguintes questões “Segundo as mulheres negras africanas, como pensar gênero em África? Qual é a situação da mulher negra africana com relação à equidade de gênero hoje?” Para tal, foram redigidos três capítulos; o primeiro, Sujeitas da própria história: influência, organizações e movimentos de mulheres africanas, aborda os movimentos de mulheres africanas, mostrando-as enquanto agentes de mudança de contextos como o fim do colonialismo, as lutas por independência e guerras civis; o segundo capítulo, Pensadoras negras africanas e concepções de gênero: apontamentos da África anglófona, traz questões teóricas acerca de gênero desenvolvidas por mulheres africanas, principalmente nigerianas e sul-africanas, dialogando, secundariamente, com mulheres de outras nacionalidades africanas e afro-diaspóricas; no terceiro e último, intitulado Feminismo africano, como o nome sugere, enfatiza o feminismo, em sua vertente africana, analisando as articulações no campo das ideias e, secundariamente, das ações do que se declara feminismo africano. O fruto desta pesquisa é um apanhado de informações em geral indisponíveis em língua portuguesa, que podem sulear outras pesquisas em torno das temáticas aqui apresentadas.

This Master's dissertation was based on the history of the present time, studying subSaharan Africa in a post-colonial African period (1960-2010). Based on an afrocentered approach, the research aims to answer the following questions: "According to black African women, how to think about gender in Africa? What is the situation of black African women with regard to gender equity today?" Three chapters have been written for this purpose; the first, Subject to their own history: influence, organizations and movements of African women, addresses the African women's movements, showing them as agents of change in contexts such as the end of colonialism, independence struggles and civil wars; the second chapter, Black African thinkers and gender conceptions: notes from Anglophone Africa, brings up theoretical questions about gender developed by African women, mainly Nigerian and South African, in dialogue, secondarily, with women of other African and AfroDiasporic nationalities; the third and final chapter, entitled African Feminism, as the name suggests, emphasizes feminism, in its African dimension, analyzing the articulations in the field of ideas and, secondarily, the actions of what is declared African feminism. The fruit of this research is a collection of information generally unavailable in Portuguese, which can be used to draw on other research on the themes presented here.
