Múltiplos singulares : as inscrições de si da população de rua no jornal Boca de Rua

Abstract

Como a população de rua se inscreve nas narrativas do jornal Boca de Rua: esta é, de maneira bastante sucinta, a complexa questão que se pretende abordar nesta dissertação. Para tanto, o percurso teórico nos guiará por questões tais quais os limites e possibilidades do inscrever a si: em um universo onde as identidades se fazem ao se desfazer, móveis e fugidias, e conexões novas surgem sempre ao passo que as desconexões jamais se interrompem, como posso falar de mim e, em certa medida, como posso mesmo saber quem sou – ou minimamente garantir e sustentar que sou aquilo que imagino ser? Por que percursos correm e se chocam freneticamente léxicos e sintaxes e ações e discursos que moldam aquilo tudo que sei e que sinto e que expresso, fazendo de questões aparentemente simples enredados enigmas que, apesar de constantes tentativas, parecem jamais satisfatoriamente respondidos? Tais questionamentos nos perturbam e, exatamente devido a isto, por eles nos aventuraremos, partindo de compreensões pós-estruturalistas e dos Estudos Culturais. Para efetuar esta tentativa, elegemos como objeto de estudo o jornal Boca de Rua, publicação produzida inteiramente por pessoas em situação de rua de Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil: nele queremos entender como são construídas as narrativas de si daquelas e daqueles a quem com incômoda frequência é negada a permissão para dizer o que quer que seja e, em boa parte por causa disto, também a para existir da maneira que melhor lhes convir. Efetuaremos um estudo actancial: para escapar de abordagens essencialistas, atentaremos para as ações de moradoras e moradores de rua inscritas nos textos e também ao entorno, à rua e à cidade e aos outros destes que estigmatizamos como Outros maiúsculos; o que fazem e o que os faz fazer e o que ativam quando fazem o que fazem. Reagindo a tentativas de estabilizações identitárias já postas sobre ela, pesados estigmas, a população de rua grita: vemos, no Boca de Rua, a inscrição de ações singularizantes que nos revelam seres complexos e múltiplos, bem mais diversos que o suposto pela ação que mais pesa sobre elas e eles, o morar na rua que os define. Inseridos em um cotidiano de violência – simbólica e física –, inscrever a si no mundo parece uma importante ferramenta para a população de rua reencontrar, na singularidade das mortes e das vidas narradas, a sua multiplicidade.

How homeless people inscribe themselves in the narrative of the newspaper “Boca de Rua” (meaning “Street Mouth”): succinctly, this is the complex question that the dissertation will seek to unravel. In order to do so, the theoretical path will guide us through questions such as the limits and possibilities of self inscribing: in a universe where identities are made as they are undone, mobile and fugacious, and new connections always arise while the disconnections never interrupt, how can I tell anything of myself and, to a certain extent, how can I even know who I am – or at least guarantee and sustain that I am what I imagine myself to be? By what paths do the lexicon and syntax and the actions and discourses that shape everything I know and feel and express run and clash frantically, making seemingly simple questions entangled with enigmas that, despite constant attempts, never seem to be satisfactorily answered? Such questions disturb us and, precisely because of that, we will venture them, starting from poststructuralist understandings and also from Cultural Studies. To make this attempt, we chose as object for our study the newspaper “Boca de Rua”, a publication produced entirely by homeless people from Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil: in it we want to understand how the narratives of those who with disturbing frequency have denied the permission to say whatever it is they want to say and, largely because of that, also to exist in the way that suits them best are constructed. We will carry out an actantial study: in order to escape from essentialist approaches, we will consider the actions of the homeless inscribed in the texts and also the surroundings, the streets and the city and the others of these that we stigmatize as Other; what they do and what makes them do what they do. Reacting to attempts of identity stabilization already put on them, heavy stigmas, those who live in the streets shout: we can see, in “Boca de Rua”, the inscription of singularizing actions that reveal us complex and multiple beings, much more diverse than what is supposed by the action that most weighs on their sholders, the “not having a home, home-less” that defines them. Inserted in a routine of violence – symbolic and physical – inscribing themselves in the world is an important tool for homeless people to find, in the singularity of deaths and lives written in a newspaper, its multiplicity.
