A construção narrativa do biógrafo e do biografado em Roberto Carlos em detalhes e O réu e o rei

Abstract

Esta dissertação busca investigar a construção narrativa do biógrafo e do biografado nos livros Roberto Carlos em detalhes e O réu e o rei: minha história com Roberto Carlos, em detalhes. A pesquisa parte do pressuposto de que a narrativa biográfica é um lugar de representação de experiências vividas e de mediação de histórias de vida. O estudo considera a relação entre narrador, personagens e espaços biográficos e tem como problema de pesquisa indagar como o biógrafo constrói a si mesmo e como constrói o biografado nas narrativas estudadas. Os livros analisados produzem narrativas tanto sobre o cantor biografado quanto sobre o jornalista e historiador Paulo Cesar de Araújo, autor das obras, com predominância do caráter autobiográfico. Por meio de uma análise flutuante dos livros, chegamos ao recorte de seis capítulos que mostram momentos de aproximação e distanciamento entre fã e ídolo. A pesquisa teve por objetivo responder sobre o lugar do narrador, as personagens e seus conflitos e a intersecção entre biografia, autobiografia e metabiografia que compõem as narrativas e suas estratégias de produção de sentido Utilizamos a metodologia proposta por Motta (2013) para análise de narrativas realísticas conjugada com procedimentos de Reuter (2007) para identificar funções narrativas, fundada também nas teorias narrativas de Ricoeur (1994), Genette (1995), Culler (1999) e chaves de interpretação biográficas de Vilas-Boas (2014). O desfecho mostra que o narrador-biógrafo foge ao distanciamento que marca o discurso biográfico, ao se colocar como personagem quando constrói-se a si mesmo ao contar a história do biografado. As narrativas de Roberto Carlos em detalhes e O réu e o rei são também exemplos de um fazer biográfico que tem mais liberdade para assumir a polifonia de vozes, especialmente a que se coloca dentro da história que narra, e que resulta em personagens mutantes, complexos e que são indissociáveis.

This dissertation seeks to investigate the narrative construction of the biographer and the biography subject (the artist) in the books Roberto Carlos em detalhes and O réu e o rei: minha história com Roberto Carlos em detalhes. The research starts from the assumption that a biographical narrative is a place of representation of lived experiences and mediation of life stories. The study considers the relationship between narrator, characters and biographical space and has as research problem to ask how the biographer constructs himself and builds the biography in the studied narratives. The autobiographical character is predominant in the analyzed books, which produce narratives about both the singer, subject of the biography, and the journalist and historian Paulo Cesar de Araújo, author of the works. Through a floating analysis of the books, we have come to the snippet of six chapters that present moments of closeness and distance between the fan and his idol. The research aimed to answer about the place of the narrator, the characters and their conflicts, and also about the intersection between biography, autobiography and metabiography that make up the narratives, as well as their strategies to produce meaning We use the methodology proposed by Motta (2013) for the analysis of realistic narratives in conjunction with Reuter's procedures (2007) to identify the narrative functions. The analysis is also grounded in the narrative theories of Ricoeur (1994), Genette (1995), Culler (1999) and biographical interpretation keys of Vilas-Boas (2014). The outcome shows that the narratorbiographer escapes from the distance that is characteristic of the biographical discourse by putting himself as a character, when he builds himself while telling the story of the artist, subject of the biography. The narratives of Roberto Carlos em detalhes and O réu e o rei: minha história com Roberto Carlos em detalhes are also examples of a biographical style that is constituted of more freedom to assume a polyphony of voices, especially the one within the story itself narrates, and that results in mutant, complex and inseparable characters.
