A usabilidade no site do Superior Tribunal de Justiça : uma análise a partir do comportamento de busca dos usuários e das heurísticas

Abstract

Este trabalho baseou-se em estudos da Arquitetura da Informação e teve como objetivo saber se o website do Superior Tribunal de Justiça possui usabilidade e se auxilia seus usuários na busca por informações pertinentes, uma vez que os sistemas onlines são desenvolvidos para que o usuário tenha acesso de forma facilitada à informação De forma específica,propõe entender como o STJ nas suas seções de jurisprudência, processos, cortes estrangeiras, concursos e BDJur relaciona os atributos quanto a facilidade de uso, eficiência, e grau de propensão a erros. Relaciona ainda os comportamentos de busca de estudantes de Direito, advogados e bibliotecários nessas seções. Utiliza uma metodologia exploratória analítica em que usuários executaram o teste de usabilidade dessas seções e seguida de uma avaliação baseada em heurísticas de Nielsen, para compreender se os requisitos de usabilidade do website foram atendidos. Detecta poucos problemas de usabilidade de alta severidade, e identifica que a jurisprudência é a fonte de informação mais utilizada pelos usuários e que há uma aceitação pela maioria, do website do STJ. Identifica também um comportamento ansioso dos jovens estudantes de Direito, com pouca atenção e muita ansiedade em encontrar a informação desejada. Já os mais velhos (advogados e bibliotecários) lêem com atenção a tarefa e as informações veiculadas no website, muita vezes, reportando-se ao mapa do site. Aponta uma prevalência no uso da busca por jurisprudência e não do uso dos menus para encontrar a informação solicitada. Também aponta que há uma necessidade do bibliotecário jurídico estar presente no processo de acesso à informação, tanto no desenvolvimento da interface, como no processo de busca do usuário, auxiliando nos caminhos percorridos.

This study was based on findings in the field of Information Architecture and aimed to measure the usability of the Brazilian Superior Court of Justice’s website (STJ, in Portuguese) so as to evaluate whether it can actually help its users browse through for relevant information, since the online systems are developed to provide the user with easy access to information. It aims particularly to understand how the STJ organizes its segments in regards to effectiveness, efficiency, and level of error-proneness in the website’s different reference sections: jurisprudence, cases, foreign courts, contests and BDJur. The study also evaluates the behavior of law students, lawyers and librarians while browsing past each section. Such analysis was carried out through an exploratory analytical method in which users have been through usability tests, followed by an evaluation based on Nielsen's heuristics to understand whether the website's usability requirements have been met. The results detect few highly severe problems of usability, and show that the most popular information source is the jurisprudence reference section. It also identifies that there is a general acceptance of the STJ website by the majority. The present study also reveals that young law students tend to have an anxious behavior, paying little attention and acting very anxious while browsing to find the requested information. As for the adults, (lawyers and librarians), they tend to read carefully all the tasks requested during the tests and all the information provided on the website, often referring to the site map. The predominance in the search for jurisprudence instead of use of the appropriate menus to find the requested information was another relevant finding. Finally, concerning the difficulties throughout the process, the study revealed the need for librarians to be present during the process of access to information, both in the moment of the development of the interface and also in the moment of the user's search, helping them along the path to find the information they may be seeking.
