Entre nós e frestas a vida acontece : uma investigação em pintura sobre madeiras coletadas

Abstract

Esta investigação apresenta a minha produção em pintura, especialmente no que tange ao uso de madeiras coletadas e transformadas em suporte total ou parcial em meus trabalhos. A partir da prática do ateliê, estabeleço reflexões sobre os procedimentos que englobam a feitura deste suporte, bem como sua relevância dentro da elaboração das pinturas. A questão central desta pesquisa surge de uma necessidade ocasional dentro do contexto da maior enchente da história do Rio Grande do Sul, em maio de 2024 e desdobra-se em um amplo campo de experimentações poéticas e formais, que alteram profundamente os rumos do meu trabalho. O objetivo desta pesquisa é explorar como essas madeiras coletadas da rua, que já se encontravam em situação de descarte, influenciam a fatura da minha pintura, transformando-se em espaços pictóricos que dialogam com o tempo, a memória e o meu entorno. A coleta, a desmontagem e a reestruturação das partes dos caixotes usados tornam-se etapas fundamentais da minha metodologia de trabalho, onde o acaso, o improviso e as relações sensíveis norteiam os desdobramentos seguintes. Partindo da pintura figurativa, teço conjecturas que se aproximam do que há de mais recente na minha produção, que flerta com a abstração e a simplificação da imagem, encontrando no suporte de pequeno formato um espaço de intimidade que converge com os temas da pintura. Apoio-me em teóricos como Didi- Huberman e Lévi-Strauss para pensar as questões da imagem e da bricolagem e Angela Pohlmann, Fayga Ostrower e Bachelard em relação ao tempo, a memória e o espaço íntimo, bem como passagens da literatura que dão conta de questões poéticas e subjetivas que englobam o meu trabalho como um todo.

This investigation presents my recent work in painting, particularly regarding the use of collected wood, which has been transformed into either full or partial supports for my artworks. From within the studio practice, I reflect on the procedures involved in creating these supports, as well as their relevance in the development of the paintings. The central issue of this research arises from a circumstantial necessity brought about by the largest flood in the history of Rio Grande do Sul, in May 2024, and unfolds into a broad field of poetic and formal experimentation that has profoundly altered the course of my work. The aim of this research is to explore how these pieces of wood, gathered from the streets and already in a state of disposal, influence the making of my paintings, becoming pictorial spaces that engage with time, memory, and my surroundings. The collection, disassembly, and restructuring of the crate parts become fundamental stages in my working methodology, where chance, improvisation, and sensitive relationships guide the subsequent developments. Starting from figurative painting, I weave conjectures that approach the most recent aspects of my production, which flirts with abstraction and the simplification of the image, finding in the small-format support a space of intimacy that converges with the themes of painting. I draw on theorists such as Didi-Huberman and Lévi-Strauss to reflect on issues related to the image and bricolage, and on Angela Pohlmann, Fayga Ostrower, and Bachelard regarding time, memory, and intimate space, as well as literary passages that address poetic and subjective aspects encompassing my work as a whole.
