Instruções como estratégia artística para instigar experiências participativas : faça-você-mesmo

Abstract

Esta pesquisa busca analisar a dimensão faça-você-mesmo em trabalhos de arte contemporânea, sobretudo de caráter participativo e com influência da Arte Conceitual. A dimensão analisada manifesta-se por meio de um convite para o público realizar algo, adotando um papel de criação dentro do processo artístico, mas não, necessariamente, de autoria. Aponta-se a importância de que a participação da audiência seja de caráter físico, e não apenas mental. Propõe-se que a dimensão faça-você-mesmo produz o que é chamado de experiência de presença, uma situação de intensificação da relação dos participantes consigo mesmos e com seu entorno, resultando em uma modificação da sua forma de estar no mundo. Este trabalho realiza três estudos de caso, apoiados por entrevistas, para desenvolver a análise proposta: o projeto No Coração da Agulha (2013-), coordenado pela artista e professora Ana Flávia Baldisserotto; o trabalho Relaxamento Afro (2018-), criado pela artista e diretora teatral Silvana Rodrigues; e trabalhos da trajetória do artista Elias Maroso, com ênfase em FM Bug (2021) e Ok/Cancel (2020). Para embasar a pesquisa, são referenciados textos dos autores Anna Dezeuze, Hans Ulrich Gumbrecht, John Dewey, Martin Jay, Sherri Irvin, Claire Bishop, Allan Kaprow, entre outros. Para refletir sobre a manifestação da dimensão faça-você-mesmo em trabalhos de arte, são analisadas obras do Fluxus, de Yoko Ono, de Lygia Clark, de Lygia Pape, de David Medalla, entre outros.

This work aims to study the ‘do-it-yourself dimension’ in works of contemporary art, with emphasis in their participatory character and the influence of Conceptual Art. The analyzed dimension manifests itself through an invitation for the audience to realize something, adopting a creative role in the artistic process, but not, necessarily, one of authorship. It is emphasized that audience participation should be physical in nature, rather than just mental. It is proposed that the do-it-yourself dimension produces what is called, here, experience of presence, a situation where the relationship of the participants with themselves and the world around them is intensified, resulting in a modification of their manner of being in the world. This work conducts three case studies, supported by interviews, to develop the proposed analysis: the project No Coração da Agulha (2013-), coordinated by artist and professor Ana Flávia Baldisserotto; the work Relaxamento Afro (2018-), created by artist and theater director Silvana Rodrigues; and works from the career of artist Elias Maroso, with an emphasis on FM Bug (2021) and Ok/Cancel (2020). To support the research, texts by authors such as Anna Dezeuze, Hans Ulrich Gumbrecht, John Dewey, Martin Jay, Sherri Irvin, Claire Bishop, and Allan Kaprow, among others, are referenced. To reflect on the manifestation of the do-it-yourself dimension in artworks, pieces by Fluxus, Yoko Ono, Lygia Clark, Lygia Pape, David Medalla, among others, are analyzed.
