Representações sociais dos jovens rurais acerca do trabalho na agricultura familiar e da vida no meio rural em Antônio Prado/RS

Abstract

O meio rural é atravessado por variadas representações sociais que influenciam de forma intrínseca e extrínseca os sujeitos que ali vivem. Compreender as representações sociais do meio rural auxilia a identificar como os sujeitos rurais se identificam enquanto agricultores, como se relacionam com os atravessamentos do mundo globalizado e como estes fatores influenciam na reprodução social da agricultura familiar. Desta forma, o objetivo deste estudo é analisar as representações sociais que os jovens filhos de agricultores familiares do município de Antônio Prado/RS possuem sobre a vida no meio rural e sobre o trabalho na agricultura. Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo de caráter exploratório, descritivo e interpretativo. As técnicas utilizadas para a obtenção de dados foram à investigação bibliográfica, documental e pesquisa de campo. Realizaram-se entrevistas semiestruturadas com base em questionário padronizado junto a 30 jovens, entre de 15 a 24 anos, de ambos os sexos. Os dados obtidos foram organizados em campos e subcampos, descritos e analisados por meio da técnica de análise do conteúdo temática. Como principais resultados visualiza-se que as representações sociais dos jovens rurais sobre a vida no meio rural e sobre o trabalho na agricultura possuem caráter favorável, despertando o interesse dos jovens rurais sucederem a unidade de produção familiar e perpetuarem a profissão de agricultor ou agricultora.

The rural environment is crossed by various social representations that intrinsically and extrinsically influence the subjects who live there. Understanding the social representations of the rural environment helps to identify how rural subjects identify themselves as farmers, how they relate to the crossings of the globalized world and how these factors influence the social reproduction of family farming. Thus, the objective of this study is to analyze the social representations that young children of family farmers in the municipality of Antônio Prado/RS have about life in rural areas and about work in agriculture. This is an exploratory, descriptive and interpretative qualitative study. The techniques used to obtain data were bibliographical and documentary research and field research. Semi-structured interviews were carried out based on a standardized questionnaire with 30 young people, between 15 and 24 years old, of both sexes. The data obtained were organized into categories and subcategories, described and analyzed using the thematic content analysis technique. As main results, it is visualized that the social representations of rural youths about life in rural areas and about work in agriculture have a positive character, arousing the interest of rural youths to succeed the family production unit and perpetuate the profession of farmer.
