Entendendo a importância da fotografia no ensino de Geografia por meio de questionários com autores e pesquisadores do Livro Didático de Geografia (LDG)

Abstract

Este capítulo faz parte da tese de doutorado – defendida no ano de 2018 no Posgea-Ufrgs, sob a orientação do professor Dr. Nestor André Kaercher – e busca refletir sobre a importância das fotografias dos livros didáticos de Geografia (LDGs) no aprendizado dos alunos e no papel que este instrumento tão utilizado teve (e ainda tem), no processo educacional. A metodologia utilizada neste capítulo baseou-se em revisão bibliográfica em artigos, livros, dissertações, teses e documentos oficiais referentes ao PNLD de vários anos. Também incluiu-se como procedimento metodológico a aplicação de questionários enviados a 10 professores autores e ou pesquisadores do LDG (sete autores e três pareceristas de LDG). Dentre as proposições baseadas nestas referências está a possibilidade de identificar os significados das fotografias (dos LDGs) e o papel didático/pedagógico dessas fotografias no ensino de Geografia. Assim, acreditamos que as fotografias do LDG são um importante recurso para o professor na construção dos conceitos geográficos, possibilitando aos alunos serem atores da transformação social na escola e no espaço geográfico de suas cidades. Ao adotar a linguagem fotográfica, o professor de Geografia estará contribuindo para a construção de aprendizagens mais significativas, e estas, aliadas aos conceitos geográficos, trarão maior sentido a sua prática docente. Portanto, é imprescindível que o professor de Geografia aproxime o aluno de abordagens didáticas que utilizem fotografias (como as do LDG), para que a curiosidade e a reflexão possam se manifestar e gradativamente se transformar em conhecimento geográfico.

This chapter is part of the doctoral thesis – defended in 2018 at POSGEAUFRGS, under the guidance of teacher Nestor André Kaercher (PhD) – and seeks to reflect on the importance of photographs from Geography didactic book (GDB) in learning students and the role that this widely used instrument had (and still has) in the educational process. The methodology used in this chapter was based on a bibliographic review of articles, books, dissertations, theses and official documents related to the PNLD of many years. Also included as a methodological procedure is an application of questionnaires sent to 10 GDB teacher authors and researchers (7 authors and 3 GDB reviewers). Among the propositions based on the references, there is the possibility of identifying the meanings of the photographs (of the GDB’s) and the didactic/ pedagogical role of these photographs in the teaching of Geography. Thus, we believe that GDB photographs are an important resource for the teacher in the construction of geographical concepts, enabling students to be actors of social transformation at school and in the geographical space of their cities. When adopting the photographic language, the Geography teacher should contribute to the construction of more relevant learning and these, combined with geographical concepts, will bring a greater meaning to his teaching practice. Therefore, it is essential that the Geography teacher brings the student closer to didactic approaches that use photographs (how as the GDB), so that curiosity and reflection are manifested and gradually become geographic knowledge.
