A representação de assuntos nas obras de ficção científica

Abstract

Este trabalho tem por objetivo analisar alternativas para indexação de obras de ficção científica em bibliotecas públicas tendo em vista a perspectiva do usuário. Utiliza como referencial teórico as áreas de indexação, folksonomia, bibliotecas públicas e literatura de ficção cientifica. Para realização do estudo foram selecionadas cinco obras do gênero de ficção científica e então comparadas a indexação de assuntos realizada em cinco bibliotecas públicas de diferentes regiões do Brasil, a Biblioteca Nacional e as tags utilizadas pelos usuários do site social Library Thing. A análise dos dados é realizada de cada obra individualmente e após são postas algumas considerações comparativas quanto as representações das bibliotecas e das tags utilizadas pelos leitores das obras. Conclui que a indexação de obras de ficção científica realizada atualmente nas bibliotecas não atende as expectativas dos usuários e que a utilização da analise das tags pode ser uma ferramenta auxiliar para a indexação de obras de ficção cientifica e também de outros gêneros literários.

This work aims to analyze alternatives for indexing works of science fiction in public libraries in view of the user 's perspective. Uses as theoretical reference the areas of indexation, folksonomy, public libraries and literature of scientific fiction. To carry out the study were selected five works of the genre of science fiction and then compared the indexing of subjects held in five public libraries of different regions of Brazil, the National Library and the tags used by users of the social site Library Thing. The analysis of the data is carried out of each work individually and after some comparative considerations are made as representations of the libraries and the tags used by the readers of the works. It concludes that the indexing of works of science fiction currently carried out in libraries does not meet the expectations of the users and that the use of the analysis of the tags can be an auxiliary tool for the indexation of works of scientific fiction and also of other literary genres.
